These are solid long blocks built with the practical consumer in mind. If you are looking for a high power, turbo charged, custom-built drag strip engine then consult your local engine builder. Built in California by Jack Sacchette
Jack Sacchette knows race engines, and he knows quality engine components. Jack is the founder of Jay Cee Enterprises and is a 9 Time VW drag race champion. His engine builds are legendary, and have been featured in Hot VW's numerous times. In short, if Jack puts his name on this project, you know these are going to be some seriously great engines.
These engines aren't built by some new employee who was given a checklist of things to do. These engines are built by an industry-proven professional who has built everything and anything in-between.

EMPI Long Blocks are assembled with brand 100% brand new components. These Long Blocks feature AutoLinea aluminum cases, AutoLinea dual port cylinder heads with OE style OSVAT valves, High Performance EMPI Rocker arm assemblies, Schadek Oil Pumps, Elring Gaskets, and OSVAT, Mahle, Manton, Silverline engine components.
All this topped of with a EMPI proprietary 3 angle valve job performed on a Rottler valve machine at EMPI in Anaheim, California.

All EMPI Long Blocks are palletized, shrink-wrapped, padded, crated and ready to ship. Oil is not included. Follow included set-up & break-in instructions before running your engine.
12 Month/12,000 Mile Warranty
EMPI is standing behind these long blocks with an incredible, limited warranty. EMPI will guarantee your engine is free from defects for the first 12-months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Now, if you take your car off-road or race it, or beat it, that isn't covered. But, if you use your engine as intended, EMPI has your back, BUT YOU MUST ALSO FOLLOW THE BREAK-IN PROCEDURES.

Our Long-Block Completion Kits include everything you might need to turn your long block into a working engine. We don't include the exhaust, oil filler, and air cleaner because so much relies on personal preference.

Our Long Block Completion Kit fits 1600cc Type 1 based, dual port, carbureted engines for use in 1954 through 1977 Standard Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1954 through 1974 Karmann Ghias, 1973 through 1974 Things and 1955 through 1967 Type 2 Bus Models. It can also be used for 1968 through 1971 Type 2 Bus models, but the included front engine tin is not the correct shape for the engine compartment.
