I picked up my 1972 Karmann Ghia in June of 2019. It had sat along the coast in San Diego, CA under a car cover for over 20 years. This vintage VW was mostly original but the paint needed some corrections, plus it leaked a lot of oil.
I grew up driving a 1961 Baja Bug and it was love at first site when I saw the stylish curves of the Karmann Ghia. My son and I have done a lot of work on this Ghia and we even rebuilt the engine once we discovered the oil leak was from the oil sensor was stripped and it needed a sleeve.
