Technically it’s my wife's car but since I finished its restoration she lets me drive it. We just acquired it this year but this is not my wife's first Beetle. She had her first one 40 years ago before I met her. While she was arranging for the title transfer at a currency exchange a beer truck came around the corner and totaled the Bug in the parking lot. Several years later she found a 1973 convertible Beetle. She only had that one for four months before it was stolen from a shopping mall parking lot and never recovered.

She has waited a long time for a replacement and this 1971 Super Beetle was perfect because it was a convertible and the identical color as her last one. I myself had never owned a Beetle or any VW. So finishing it up has been a real learning process. Best advice I got was from my nephew who used to work on these all the time. He's the one who directed me to reach out to JBugs. You guys have been great in providing the necessary parts and giving some technical help when I have called in for assistance.
