The factory replacement tail pipe fits 1972 to 1979 VW Type 2 Bus models. The Bus tail pipe bolts to the right hand side of the stock muffler. The tail pipe is made in Europe and comes painted with a grey primer that will burn off in time. We offer the tail pipe installation gasket and hardware separately.

A Tail Pipe Installation kit is recommended whenever replacing the tail pipe.

Grey Primer is only a rust inhibitor!

If the grey primer is not removed before installation, it will burn off in a few hours. We recommend stripping the muffler with a good solvent or sanding the paint off and then painting the muffler with a high quality, High-Temperature Exhaust Paint. None of our exhaust components are warrantied against rust.
