The steel tail pipe is a short extension for the mufflers on 1975 through 1979 VW Standard and Super Beetle California and Federal Models. The tail pipe clamps to the exhaust with a tail pipe installation kit which is sold separately. Currently the tail pipes are only available in a primered steel, we do not have a chrome tail pipe available.

A replacement tail pipe clamp is recommended whenever installing a new tail pipe.



Beginner Tips:

Exhausts leaks can cause a number of problems with your VW engine from lost performance to engine damage. Make sure your exhaust system is sealed properly!

Grey Primer is only a rust inhibitor!

If the grey primer is not removed before installation, it will burn off in a few hours. We recommend stripping the muffler with a good solvent or sanding the paint off and then painting the muffler with a high quality, High-Temperature Exhaust Paint. None of our exhaust systems are warrantied against rust.

Tailpipe installation is easy!

We recommend using new tail pipe clamp kits whenever replacing or adding tailpipes to a new muffler. Tailpipes and installation clamps are each sold separately.
