Brand New Replacement left and right side floor pans come complete with seat rails and jack mounts. These are complete length & width floor pan halves designed to fit 1954 through 1970 VW Beetles. Please note that purchasing front and rear patch sections will not make a complete floor pan.
The 1946-1970 VW floor pan features inverted "L" seat rails, which are different from the "T" seat rails used in 1971-1972 models.
Installation will require cutting and welding the inner edge to the chassis, just like the original factory floor pans, while the outer edge bolts to the heat channel.
The rear crossmembers and jack supports may not be welded to the floor pan. We aim to keep the price of the floor pans as low as possible, and loose pieces allow us to use a much smaller box. Many floor pan installers, including us, recommend using the original crossmember, as this saves time during installation by not having to remove it from the replacement pan. The process is covered in our floor pan installation video.
A replacement pan to body seal and floor pan hardware are recommended whenever installing new floor pans. We also recommend replacing the seat rail bushings when installing new floor pans.
If your pans are beyond repair, don't waste your time with a cheap fiberglass patch, rivited in piece of sheet metal or worse, a piece of wood. If your pans are rusted any more than just beyond the battry tray, save the time and repair the pan properly with a complete pan half. It takes less effort to install a full half than to trim out, clean up, and seam weld in a patch panel. Installing new floor pans can be done with the body on the chassis but will require trimming and of course welding for proper installation.
