Premium Replacement Floor Pans for 1971-1972 VW Standard & Super Beetle
- Left & Right replacement pan halves
- Made from 0.04" (18 Gauge) sheet metal
- Includes seat rails and jack mounts
Our Brand New Premium Replacement left and right side floor pans come complete with seat rails and jack mounts. The driver and passenger side floor pans are 1.2mm thick and weigh 21.5 pounds per side. These are complete length & width floor pan halves designed to fit 1971 through 1972 VW Standard and Super Beetles. Please note that purchasing front and rear patch sections will not make a complete floor pan.
The 1971-1972 VW floor pans feature inverted "T" seat rails, different from the inverted "L" seat rails found in 1946-1970 models.
Product Fitment
- 1971-1972 VW Standard Beetle
- 1971-1972 VW Super Beetle
Installation Notes
The cross members, jack supports, and plates are not welded to the floor pan. We recommend leaving the factory cross member in place and welding the pan on top of it. The jack support and plate will have to be welded to the pan if you choose to use them.
Installation will require welding the inner edge to the chassis, just like the original factory floor pans, while the outer edge bolts to the heat channel.
Additional RecommendationsA replacement pan to body seal and floor pan hardware are recommended whenever installing new floor pans. We also recommend replacing the seat rail bushings when installing new floor pans.
Notes on Sheet Metal:
- Virtually all sheet metal parts are sent with a black, sprayed-on, rust inhibitor. This is NOT a paint or a primer. The black paint that comes on most sheet metal items must be removed before applying primer to the sheet metal.
- Expect scratches, minor dents, dings, and imperfections. These are considered normal. You will likely have to perform minor body work on any aftermarket sheet metal during the installation and restoration process. This is a universal issue across the entire classic car industry due to the nature of the product.
- Large dents would be considered excessive damage. All sheet metal is carefully inspected prior to shipping for any major dents. Any sheet metal that is received dented must be presented to the shipping carrier for a damage claim, regardless of the condition of the box.
- Test fit the all sheet metal before painting. Once body work or paint work has been done to any sheet metal item, it can't be returned! There are no exceptions!
Test fitting your seats before installation insures that you don't do twice the work! Seats, floor pans, and even the chassis could have been swapped so make sure your test fit your seat to the floor pan before installing it.
