This VW Rear Engine Deck Lid with Louvers is a high-quality reproduction made in Brazil. 1972 and later VW Beetle models requires the use of a 1966-1971, 3 screw deck lid handle. If you are using this decklid on a 1972-1979 Beetle, you must use PN:#111-517A and PN:#113827503F

Product Fitment

Note: Note: This decklid may come in one of 2 versions depending on product availability. One version has emblem holes pre drilled & a thermostatically controlled engine compartment vent cut out. The alternate version does not have these drilled/cut, but can be added before painting. If you need a specific version, please call us and we will be happy to check which versions we currently have in stock.

Notes on Sheet Metal:

Virtually all sheet metal parts are sent with a black, sprayed-on, rust inhibitor. This is NOT a paint or a primer. The black paint that comes on most sheet metal items must be removed before applying primer to the sheet metal.
Expect scratches, minor dents, dings, and imperfections. These are considered normal. You will likely have to perform minor body work on any aftermarket sheet metal during the installation and restoration process. This is a universal issue across the entire classic car industry due to the nature of the product.
Large dents would be considered excessive damage. All sheet metal is carefully inspected prior to shipping for any major dents. Any sheet metal that is received dented must be presented to the shipping carrier for a damage claim, regardless of the condition of the box.
Test fit the all sheet metal before painting. Once body work or paint work has been done to any sheet metal item, it can't be returned! There are no exceptions!

Previous accidents and body work can cause poor fitment of new sheet metal items. It is very important to test fit the decklid before painting it. This will allow any necessary body work to either the body or the decklid to be done BEFORE it is painted.
