This VW Upper Door Hinge is compatible with 1956-1977 Beetles. This Upper Door Hinge fits the left (driver) side. Product fits VW Standard Beetle 1956-1977, VW Ragtop Beetle 1956-1963, VW Sunroof Beetle 1964-1977<, VW Beetle Convertible 1956-1970, VW Super Beetle Convertible 1971-1979.

Please Note: This aftermarket door hinge will fit 1956-1977 Beetles, but does NOT include the mirror mount originally found on 1956-67 OEM driver side door hinges. If you plan to use this hinge on a pre-67 Beetle, you will need to purchase a Mirror Mounting Hinge Pin (sold separately) and install it before mounting your new door hinge.

Installation requires 3 Door Hinge to Body Screws at door pillar mount (screws not included) and originally used 4 plug rivets at door mount. Alternatively, you can tap new threads into the door hinge at door mount, and use 4 more Door Hinge to Body Screws for an easier installation.

These work really well. These are going to seem extremely tight when first received. This is due to the lack of leverage that the door provides. Once attached to a door these work and feel like original.
