This 1961-1967 VW Beetle and Karmann Ghia gas tank fits in the original gas tank location in the trunk and accepts the stock sending unit, fuel tap, and in-tank filter at the bottom. The fuel tank filler neck has a vent port at the top like the original. However, it uses a smaller, 60mm neck and requires the 1955 to 1967 Bus gas cap, part number 211201551.

Our high-quality reproduction fuel tanks look and fit just like the original German-made tanks and will last decades if properly maintained. These tanks are not cheap repops. They are the best available on the market and are excellent quality.

Installation Note:

Fuel Tanks should be thoroughly cleaned before installation. Some tanks are lined with cosmoline, which can be cleaned out with MEK (Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone), Acetone, or a similar solvent. Even if the tank is not lined, it is still important to clean out the tank. Manufacturing debris can clog your fuel lines, carburetor, or fuel system!
