Is your gas tank rusted or full of debris? If you're trying to get your VW running or recently completed engine work, the last thing you want is dirt and debris from an old rusty gas tank gunking up your lines and ruining performance.
This brand-new, high-quality gas tank fits 1968 to 1974 Standard Beetles, Karmann Ghias, and 1973 to 1974 Things. This tank will give your fuel system a clean start without rust or years of gunk and buildup.
The tank accepts the stock sending unit as well as the fuel tap and in-tank filter at the bottom. It has the stock filler port and filler vent at the rear right, with a vent at the front left.
Our high-quality reproduction fuel tanks look and fit just like the original German-made tanks and will last decades if properly maintained. These tanks are not cheap repops; they are the best available on the market and of excellent quality. Don’t waste your time and effort on a poor-fitting, thin-walled tank that you’ll have to replace soon. Do it right the first time and you won’t have to worry for another 50 years!
All of the items above are included when you select the option from the drop-down menu above.
*This tank can be used on 1975 and later Beetles if you modify the fuel lines or if the car has been converted from fuel injection to carburetion. Originally, these vehicles had fuel injection, but this tank does not have a return line needed for fuel-injection systems. The fuel tap that fits this gas tank also does not have the correct outlet size for factory fuel-injected vehicles. The tank will bolt in place, but you'll need to modify the fuel lines. If your Beetle has been converted to carburetion, this is typically not an issue.
