One end attaches to the front beam and the other connects to the right, inside tie rod end.
Does not fit Super Beetles

The steering dampener fits 1960-1977 Standard Beetles, 1960 through 1974 Karmann Ghias and 1973 through 1974 Things. The steering damper is designed to act like a shock, and lessen the impact felt through the steering wheel. The road and especially bad roads impart force on your front wheels. Without a steering damper, that force is transferred through the steering components, directly to the steering wheel and to your hands. This steering damper lessens those forces and the feedback that you, as the driver, feel just like the shocks that are part of your suspension. In addition to the comfort aspect, a damaged steering damper can cause more wear to your front end and steering components. We recommend replacing the steering damper bushing when replacing your worn steering damper.
