VW Rear Left Bumper Bracket - 1968-1973 VW Beetle - 1971-73 Super Beetle

The rear left bumper bracket connects the bumper to the mounts at the inner fender well. This bracket fits 1968 to 1973 Standard Beetle and 1971 to 1973 Super Beetle models. The bracket passes through the vertical slit on the rear left fender to meet the bumper mount on the body. Six carriage bolts (#111707191A) are used to fasten the bumper blade to the bracket and four 8x12mm standard pitch bolts (#N102375) are used to secure the bracket to the body. Bumper bracket seals (#111-197B) and all the necessary mounting hardware can be found by searching their respective part numbers or in the related items below.

Test fit the bracket and bumper before painting!
Previous accidents and body work can cause poor fitment of new bumpers and other sheet metal items. It is very important to test fit the bracket before painting it. This will allow any necessary body work to either the body or the fender to be done BEFORE painting.

NOTE: All body metal parts are sent with a black, sprayed, rust inhibitor. This is NOT paint or a primer. It must be removed prior to applying primer to the sheet metal.

This includes bumper brackets, fenders, floor pans, aprons, deck lids ETC. Because this material is not a primer, it is not unusual for scratches to be found in this material. This does not affect the sheet metal as this material MUST BE REMOVED, thus also removing any scratches in the process. Of course dents would be considered excessive. All sheet metal is carefully inspected prior to shipping for dents. Any sheet metal that is received dented must be presented to the shipping carrier for a damage claim, REGARDLESS OF THE CONDITION OF THE BOX.
