VW Gas Tank for Fuel Injected 1975-1979 Super Beetles

This VW Gas Tank is a direct replacement for fuel-injected 1975-1976 Super Beetles and 1975-1979 Super Beetle Convertibles. It accepts the stock sending unit and has the stock filler port, filler vent, and tank vent on the right side with two additional vents at the upper left side. The bottom of the tank includes two ports: one for the fuel pump outlet and one for the return line from the pressure regulator.

Installation Note:

We occasionally see minor clearance issues with our replacement tanks at the fuel tank drain plug. Past front-end collision damage may cause this. Using a large diameter socket can help open the access hole at the bottom of the fuel tank well in the body. If you don't plan to remove the drain plug often, the tank can be bolted in place with no issues. Unthreading the plug can still open the hole as needed.
Fuel Tanks should be thoroughly cleaned before installation. Some tanks are lined with cosmoline, which can be cleaned out with MEK (Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone), Acetone, or a similar solvent. Even if the tank is not lined, cleaning it is crucial as manufacturing debris can clog your fuel lines, carburetor, or fuel system!
