This kit allows you to hook up an electronic speedometer into a Type 1 sedan without modifying your drums or rotors. The 48" long custom design cable utilizes the OEM dust cap hole with an inductive sensor on the opposite end, which can be easily wired to your electronic speedometer (sold separately).
The inductive sendor sends out 16 pulses per revolution.Use the roll out for your tire x 16 to calculate your PPM (pulse per mile):
For example the advertised height of a 165/80R15 Tire is 25.4". The tire has a circumference of 79.756" (25.4x3.14(Ï€)=79.756)
There are 63360" inches in a mile (63360/79.756=794.42)
So a 25.4" tall tire rotates roughly 794 times during a mile.
794x16=12704 pulses per mile.
You can use the number of pulses per mile to program your electronic speedometer.
