This large top VW Pop-Top Camper Seal fits 1974-1979 Westfalia Buses. Seal your Pop-Top Camper securely to your VW with this high quality rubber seal.
3M black weatherstrip adhesive is recommended for installation (Sold separately, can be found at most local hardware stores). Apply a thin layer of adhesive inside the seal lips where the seals makes contact with the pop top.
Let the seal and adhesive sit in the sun for 5-10 minutes until the adhesive becomes tacky. This also warms up the rubber seal making it more malleable and easier to work. We also recommend adding a thin bead of adhesive along the pop-top edge and allowing that to become tacky before proceeding.
To install, start pressing your new seals onto the pop-top from either end and work your way around the perimeter. The metal insert clip-on seals goes around the bottom base of the pop-top with the "rubber hoop" facing inside. The rubber strip installs along the closing edge towards the the luggage rack with the long lip facing outwards from the top.
Use a soft rubber mallet to gently tap seal into place as you work your way around the top. Cut any excess seal with a sharp blade or strong scissors.
