Note - this exhaust system must be used with J-Tubes! It can not be used with stock heater boxes. The EMPI GT 2 Tip Glass Pack Muffler fits Standard and Super Beetles as well as Karmann Ghias with 1300cc to 1600cc based engines. This EMPI VW Exhaust System must be used with J-Tubes. The baffled exhaust tips offer a deeper sound and exit the apron cutouts for a clean look which allows more ground clearance for lowered cars. The Stainless Steel Exhaust is great upgrade over the stock mild stamped steel exhaust system. The exhaust has 3/8” thick exhaust flanges and is built of 1/16” thick 304 stainless steel, 1 3/8” tubing, which is mandrel bent and TIG welded for a great fitting, long lasting exhaust. This exhaust system includes heat risers and allows for fresh air heater hose routing. The muffler body is finished with a 304 Stainless Steel EMPI badge and includes an aluminum flex hose, exhaust and heat riser gaskets and heat riser hardware. New (separately sold) muffler clamps are recommended whenever replacing your exhaust.
