VW Rocker Shaft Shims can be used to replace missing wave washers and help eliminate rocker side play to make sure that the rocker geometry is set correctly. Ideally the rocker, and most importantly the valve adjuster stem, will be slightly off center to the valve stem. This off axis contact forces a small amount of rotation on the valve as the rocker contacts the stem helping to spread the wear on the stem and helps to keep the valve seat clean as well. The 18mm ID shims are .015" thick. The shims are sold as a set of 8 pieces and fit stock VW rocker shafts as well as the EMPI stock sized rocker assemblies: 17-2954-0, 21-2308-0 & 21-2309-0.
