EMPI Universal Oil Cooler Kit - Competition - 24 Plate - with Bypass Adapter

This universal competition oil cooler kit from EMPI has everything you will need to install an external cooler on your air-cooled VW. EMPI's stacked-plate cooler design offers great cooling in a compact durable packaging. The oil cooler (P/N 9217) is 1 1/2" x 3" x 11". Made with aircraft-quality aluminum, this cooler relies on cross-path air flow across heavy duty plates instead of the standard finned tube design of most radiators or oil coolers. According to the manufacturer, air flows through as many as 16 paths across 24 sturdy embossed plates to provide better cooler in a smaller package. This cooler will not create any issues with dropping oil pressure. The cooler is painted black for fast heat dissipation and has 1/2" female NPT fittings. The complete oil cooler kit includes the cooler, an oil cooler bypass adapter with 3/4" x 16 nipple, remote filter bracket, high temperature oil hose and all fittings required for installation on any Type 4, Rabbit or Jetta.
