The 12 Volt, 2 watt single filament parking light or side marker bulb is used in the turn signal assembly as a running light on 1970 through 1977 Standard Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1970 through 1973 Type 3 Models and 1973 through 1974 Things. It also fits the rear side marker lights on 1969 through 1979 Type 2 Bus Models, 1980 through 1991 Vanagons and 1986 through 1991 Syncros. The bulb is also used for the license plate light in Vanagons and Syncros.

The 12 Volt Parking or Side Marker Bulb Fits:

1970-1977 Beetle - Front Running Light
1971-1979 Super Beetle - Front Running Light
1969-1979 Bus - Rear Side Marker Light
1970-1973 Type 3 - Front Running Light
1973-1974 Thing - Front Running Light
1980-1991 Vanagon - Rear Side Marker, License Light
1986-1991 Syncro - Rear Side Marker, License Light

The 12 Volt parking/side marker bulb can also be used in place of N177171 dome light bulbs in 1965-1966 Beetle Convertibles and Karmann Ghias that have swapped to 12 volt systems.
