This is my 1960 VW Manx. This car has been in my family for over 35 years. My father had a Manx in the 70’s and drove it back and forth to work rain or shine for about 4 years. He traded it in on a new car for my mom under the pretense of being able to buy it back in the next week after getting paid. The car dealership didn’t honor the commitment and kept his Manx. In the mid 80’s he had bought his second Manx and painted it yellow to match his first, lost, car. He drove this car back and forth to work for another 20 years. It was then retired to the side of his house where it lived under a tarp, until my wife uncovered it and asked if we could restore it. I bought it from my dad in 2017 and quickly tore it down and made it into the car I drive back and forth to work.
