Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii. I currently live in a small town called Kailua Kona referred to as Kona Town. I grew up on the Island of Oahu in a small town called Kailua as well. Back in 1980 in high school I bought my first bug, a 1966 that I restored. I sold it a year later and regretted it after, but vowed to do it again. Fast forward to 2016. I decided to find a find a ragtop and restore it to a modern classic. I found a ‘59 ragtop on craigslist in Los Angeles so I flew over, bought it, and shipped it back home. In 2017 I started a complete pan - off rebuild. It took over 4 years to complete and was finished in August of 2021. With every part being new or refurbished I think it came out near perfect.
