In February of 2023 an old girlfriend, who now lives in SanFrancisco, called me saying her father passed and her mom wasn't doing well either. She wondered if I was interested in this VW.
I knew nothing about VW's so I bought it from her. It was in rough shape. I stuck it in my basement last winter and went to town learning and wrenching. A lot of YouTube advice...lol. New front beam..all new steering components..all new brakes..pulled everything off it..sanded..painted..replaced alot of parts and bought almost all of it from JBugs. I am very satisfied with the service I received from them.
It's not perfect...I m not a mechanic but I've looked at alot of Beetles and I think mine holds it own. It was purchased new in 1967 by her father in South Carolina. Somehow it ended up with 7 different shads of blue. I'm a huge VW fan now. It was a great purchase. Her name is Michelene so I nicknamed it the Lene Machine.
