Sidewinder Collector for more Ground Clearance

Gone are the days when running a performance exhaust on your VW means having a header collector sitting 6" below the bottom of the rear apron. A1 Performance Exhaust pioneered the sideways merge of the Sidewinder exhaust to improve performance (with a higher quality collector) and ground clearance with the merge sitting across the back of the engine, up and behind the rear apron.

V-band Clamp for Easier Valve Adjustments

With a sidewinder style header, you have the take the muffler off in order to adjust the valves. With a standard, 3-bolt flange that means you need to replace the exhaust gasket every time you take the muffler off to adjust the valves. With the V-band clamp on this A1 muffler, you don't need a new gasket when you take the exhaust off. The design of the clamp ensures a leak-free seal allowing you to adjust the valves without worrying about needing a new gasket.

The A1 A1 Performance Exhaust mufflers and headers are made in Santa Ana, CA. Many of the other exhaust systems are imported from China and are knockoffs or imitations of the original A1 systems. It might cost a little bit more, but it's made in America!
