Replacement Rear Apron for 1968-1974 VW Beetle

  • Weld-in installation for proper fitment
  • Black anti-rust coating (must be removed before primer and paint)

The 111813301J replacement rear apron is perfect replacement if your original rear apron is badly damaged, rusted, or simply doesn't exist. The replacement rear apron is designed to be welded in to the existing body of your beetle. This apron comes with a black anti-rust coating that should removed prior to primer and paint. The apron does not include the decklid seal channel, however we do offer the channel separately. Like the apron, the decklid seal channel needs to be welded in place

Notes on Sheet Metal:

  • Virtually all sheet metal parts are sent with a black, sprayed-on, rust inhibitor. This is NOT a paint or a primer. The black paint that comes on most sheet metal items must be removed before applying primer to the sheet metal.
  • Expect scratches, minor dents, dings, and imperfections. These are considered normal. You will likely have to perform minor body work on any aftermarket sheet metal during the installation and restoration process. This is a universal issue across the entire classic car industry due to the nature of the product.
  • Large dents would be considered excessive damage. All sheet metal is carefully inspected prior to shipping for any major dents. Any sheet metal that is received dented must be presented to the shipping carrier for a damage claim, regardless of the condition of the box.
  • Test fit the all sheet metal before painting. Once body work or paint work has been done to any sheet metal item, it can't be returned! There are no exceptions!

Previous accidents, previous body work, and the age of the car can prevent perfect fitment of new sheet metal items. It is very important to test fit the apron before painting it. This will allow any necessary body work to either the body or the apron to be done BEFORE it is painted.
