This VW headlight bucket or headlight receiving assembly is sold individually and is compatible with 1967 through 1977 Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1964 through 1974 Karmann Ghias, 1968-1979 Buses, 1962 through 1973 Type 3s and 1973 through 1974 Things. The headlight bucket has the 2 adjustment screws and the headlight retaining ring to hold the headlight to the bucket. The headlight bucket is mounted to the stock fender or headlight well and accepts 6 or 12 volt, 7" headlight bulbs.

The old saying of "They don't make them like they used too!" holds true with these buckets. The mounting area where the headlight sits isn't "keyed" like original so the headlight doesn't have a set place to sit. Our best advice is to first mount the headlight bucket in the fender, typically with one of the adjustment screws at the top. Mark the top of the bucket and use that as a reference to align the top of the headlight bulb. With the bulb lined up with the top of the assembly, align the chrome retaining ring with it's three screws, install all the screws loosely, then tighten them down to hold the headlight bulb in place.

Troubleshooting:

These aftermarket headlight buckets are not on par with O.E.M. quality, but since original is no longer made these headlight buckets will work with a few simple modifications. We recommend trying these simple common fixes if your headlights don't bolt in right away.
• Trim back the notches so headlight bulbs can key into bucket. (Video)
