This Volkswagen headliner padding kit is compatible with 1958 and later classic VW Beetles and Super Beetle Sedans. This high quality padding kit should be considered essential when installing any new headliner. The kit includes a soft fabric padding for roof panel itself and foam padding for the door posts, above and behind the quarter windows, and around the rear window. This headliner padding kit will help reduce interior noise and remove some of the echoing "tin can" sound inside your 1958 to 1977 Beetle. Additionally, the headliner padding will help smooth out the headliner and give it the proper shape onece it is installed. This kit is compatible with the VW Beetle or Super Beetle Sedan. The Headliner Pad Kit can be used in Ragtops and Sunroof cars once the roof pad is trimmed accordingly.

Installation Notes:

The padding is often times folded over for shipping. Open the package and let the foam pieces rest a day or two before installation. CLick on the "Videos" tab to watch our installation video.

Headliner Padding Installation:

Main Roof Padding
Above Door Padding

Start with the main roof section pad. You may use our quart can of glue (use sparingly) and brush the adhesive on body, then apply to padding. You may also use a can of spray glue as long as you spray both the padding and body individually, then tack both pieces together. Repeat using the same method on the remaining pieces.

Padding should only cover interior of vehicle, do not extend over the lips in the window channels. Any excess material at the lip of the body will make installing seals much more difficult.

NOTE: Some pieces may require slight trimming around edges as headliner patterns changed over the years. This can easily be accomplished with scissors or a sharp knife or razor blade.

NOTE: The main roof padding section will need to be cut for ragtops and sun-roof cars.
