The Bosch W8RAC is the the most popular spark plug for classic, air-cooled VW engines. These Bosch spark plugs are sold individually and fit 1100-1600cc aircooled, VW engines.

This is the factory recommended replacement plug for the following vehicles:

  • 1954-1977 Standard Beetle
  • 1971-1979 Super Beetle
  • 1956-1974 Karmann Ghia
  • 1955-1971 Type 2 Bus Models
  • 1962-1973 Type 3
  • 1973-1974 Thing
  • 4 Required Per Vehicle

These spark plugs come pre-gapped to .024" and ready to install. If you have original style, spark plug wire ends, the resistor cap must be removed (unthreaded). Please test fit the plug wire to the plug before installing to confirm proper fitment.

Note: Bosch discontinued the original W8AC Super spark plugs and has superseded them to the new WR8AC spark plugs. These are simply a better plug with a longer life and a built-in resistor - otherwise they fit and look just like the original style.
