VW Brake Adjuster Star Leaf Tension Spring - Each

The brake adjuster spring fits:
1954-1977 Standard Beetle - Front & Rear
1971-1979 Super Beetle - Rear
1956-1966 Karmann Ghia - Front & Rear
1967-1974 Karmann Ghia - Rear
1962-1963 Type 3 - Rear
1973-1974 Thing - Front & Rear

The VW Brake Adjusting Nut is attached brake adjusting block that is welded to the drum brake backing plate. The tension spring sticks out past the edges of the block and keys into the brake adjuster star nuts to prevent them from loosening the brake shoe adjustment. These brake adjuster tension spring fits the front and rear of 1954 through 1977 Standard Beetles, the rear of 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, the front and rear of 1956 through 1966 and the rear of 1967 through 1974 Karmann Ghias, the rear of 1962 through 1963 Type 3s, and the front and rear of 1973 through 1974 Things. The tension spring is sold as an individual piece, one is needed per drum.

Installation Notes:

Originally the tension spring was crimped in place into the brake adjustment block. Peening the spring in place is ideal but tack welding the spring is the most common practice.
